Find Pride and Love for ANY Career You Choose

Someone else cannot tell you if what you do is valuable or not. Well then can TELL you, but it doesn’t mean sh*t 😛

I have worked at so many jobs over the years and you know one that I didn’t hate? Fast food.

Most people hear you work at a fast food restaurant and they want to apologize for your life LOL!!!

They are judgmental about why you aren’t doing something “more” or “real”.

Think they “know” what you do for a living because they tried it once or have a friend who does it or something.

They assume their career choice is better than yours, based on absolutely nothing, but their own prejudice and personal expectations.

Here is the thing though, I was proud of my work and I did it well, with people I liked.

It was always different, with the same bookends of each day, which was nice. I knew what to expect but wasn’t bored either.

I was in charge for the most part, so I could hire my friends, and choose who I worked with when I made the schedule.

Closing became team work because we all wanted to get out of there to hang out together more. Sometimes people not even on shift would show up and help so we could get out faster lol!

I loved the competition of food cost, service times, and accuracy.

I liked getting customer compliments on myself or my team there, and the recognition that came with that.

I loved the quiet opening mornings before anyone got there, and the accomplishment of leaving a clean restaurant at night.

I liked free food of course. Okay technically I don’t think the food was supposed to be free, buuuut … yeah 😉

So what’s my point?

Now I’m a Network Marketing Professional, and when people find hear you work in direct sales, they want to apologize for your life LOL!!!

They are judgmental about why you aren’t doing something “more” or “real”.

Think they “know” what you do for a living because they tried it once or have a friend who does it or something.

They assume their career choice is better than yours, based on absolutely nothing, but their own prejudice and personal expectations.

Expectations that have been placed on them by like their dad, or their own insecurities, or TV or some BS like that.

People are walking around deciding they are better than other people based on TOTALLY MADE UP RULES and they don’t stop to ask any questions.

How about: What do you LOVE about that? What is your favorite part of what you do?

I love what I do.

It’s different every day, with the same basic activities I can count on.

I love that I get to pick the people I work with and “hire” my friends. I love that every goal becomes teamwork.

I love the competition of doing good work, the compliments for myself and my team, and the recognition that comes with it.

I love the quiet nights creating, and the sense of accomplishment at the end of the month, when we “shut out the light” having reached our goals and given our all.

There is free stuff too, and it’s supposed to be free this time, don’t worry hahaha!

I don’t care what people think about what I do.

For me to care about your opinion, you would have to take the time to care about WHY I do what I do. If you don’t care, I don’t!

Let’s all stop asking”WHAT do you do?” and then getting out the proverbial yardstick to measure ourselves against each other. Instead let’s start asking “WHY do you do it?”.

Connect with each other’s souls and passions, instead of titles and resumes <3
