How to Flavor Water with Fruit

March 17, 20121 min read

One of the most common struggles I see is people not drinking enough water. And honestly, I get it. Plain water isn’t exactly exciting, and when you’re busy, it’s easy to forget to drink it altogether.

A simple rule I often share is this:
Take your body weight, cut it in half, and aim to drink that many ounces of water each day.

For a lot of people, that number feels overwhelming. Which usually leads to reaching for flavored drinks or bottled waters instead. The problem is those options often come with added sugars, artificial ingredients, and unnecessary cost.

The solution? Flavor your own water.

I started doing this years ago with this simple pitcher and whatever fruit I had on hand. It made drinking water something I actually looked forward to. Now it’s a daily habit, and it’s one of the easiest health upgrades you can make.

Easy Fruit Infusion Ideas

Here are some of my favorite flavor combinations:

  • Cucumber

  • Cucumber + Strawberry

  • Lemon + Lime

  • Strawberry + Blueberry

  • Strawberry + Kiwi

  • Watermelon

  • Strawberry + Mint

Just add sliced fruit to a pitcher of water and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours. The longer it sits, the stronger the flavor.

Why I Love Infused Water

  • It makes hydration enjoyable

  • It helps reduce cravings for sugary drinks

  • It looks beautiful for entertaining

  • It’s inexpensive and customizable

  • It’s a great way to use up extra fruit

You can even use these flavored waters as a base for mocktails or cocktails if you’re hosting.

If you’ve never tried infusing your water, start simple. Pick one fruit you love and build from there. Once you start, you’ll wonder why you ever drank plain water in the first place.
