Why Introverts Make Great Coaches

Are you an extrovert or an introvert? Do you know the difference? I am proud, pajama wearing, book reading, drinking wine alone, praying they cancel plans, introvert.

There has been so much more information coming out about what the difference is, and how to treat people in the different categories. This has been huge for me, since I’ve been a little conflicted, having found myself in the people business, and being under the assumption that I don’t really like people LOL.

Turns out I love people! I just really like to be alone too. For a long time I just assumed introverts were shy people, and extroverts were loud at parties =P That is actually not how it works.

It actually comes down to HOW WE RECHARGE. Online jobs for introverts

Let me explain the difference for you:

Extroverts gain energy from other people. They thrive in social settings, just soaking up energy from those around them. Extroverts actually find their energy is sapped when they spend too much time alone. They recharge by being social, going out, meeting people, and being in crowds. They leave parties and play dates feeling jazzed and ready to take on the world.

Introvert recharge by spending time alone. They lose energy from being around people for long periods of time, particularly large crowds. They will gain energy by just quietly thinking, reading, writing, or other one person activities. For me, mine is cooking. Just me in the kitchen, no phone, no emails, no people. Introverts come out of alone time creative, energized and ready to give.

Recently I was in Italy on an all expenses paid trip I’d earned for being one of the Top 10 Life Transformation Specialists in the business. I was there with the other successful people in the industry and we were chatting over a meal. It turned out that almost ALL of us were introverts. It was really crazy. I thought it was just me!

I have been thinking about this ever since then. It has become more apparent every day that what I do is PERFECT for introverts with big hearts, and business minds.

Think about it.

  • Social media has given us the ability to have all the success of those outgoing extroverts because we can be ON on OUR TIME.
  • We can workout at home, alone, on OUR TIME.
  • We can post and tell stories, on OUR TIME.
  • We can connect with people, and help them change their lives, on OUR TIME.

My introverts feel me, when you make plans to “meet for coffee” you need a week to prepare, and you will want to cancel every day leading up to it. You probably need to have a quiet morning that morning before hand and will want to get home as soon as it’s over.

What is crazy is, you’ll have a GREAT TIME at coffee. You don’t hate coffee!!!

It’s not that you don’t love your friends, and it’s not that the conversation won’t be amazing, and you won’t be smiling the whole time. It is simply that it takes energy from you to do those things, while it GIVES energy to extroverts.

I love this job because I never have to “meet a friend” at the gym, but I can if I want! I never have to have a “party” at my house for any of the products or services I offer, but I can if I want! I never have to “meet for coffee” to discuss the business opportunity, but I can if I want!

Yes we have events, quarterly, or yearly. I LOVE THEM. I know when they are a year in advance, I can plan, get excited, and set myself mentally up for them. I also can take a day off, or 3 LOL, when I get home to get my energy back. It’s my business, it’s my choice.

Even though I stay at home, I still GET TO…

  • Make new friends
  • Share ideas,
  • Collaborate with other empowered and intelligent women,
  • Laugh every day,
  • Connect with people
  • Help others with everything from health and fitness, to finances, relationship and leadership!

I have a community of people who totally accept that I am an introvert and love me for it, and some how I found the most perfect career choice that uses my love for helping people, my need for accountability for health and fitness, my natural drive for work, and “perfectly happy right here at home” attitude.

I’m not saying you should, or have to be introverted to be successful. All I am saying is that I feel like this career gives introverts the same, if not better, chances of having massive success in a society that tends to favor extroverted personality types in the work force. This gives us a chance to do big things, dream big, share our hearts and minds, and really have a huge purpose, all hiding behind our laptops 😉hiding computer

If you know you are ready to rock some serious purpose this year, you need support with your fitness goals,  or you just like the idea of making friends and money on the internet lol, I’d love to talk to you! Just to go the “Join the Team” page and send me some info about yourself. We can chat  and see if you and I are a good fit.

Looking forward to working with you (separately in our own homes of course =P)!
