Intention + Action = Magic
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the last few years is that if you want something, you can have it. It really is that simple.
You don’t have to know exactly how it will happen.
You don’t have to see every step in advance.
You just have to decide.
I’m sitting in an airport in Newark right now, on my way to spend four days at one of the most well known personal development events in the world, Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within.
Three months ago, I had absolutely no idea how I was going to make this happen.
At the time, I was already planning a massive stretch of travel. We had New Orleans, Dallas, Austin, Arizona, Disneyland, WonderCon, Cancun, Stagecoach, and then heading north to settle in Oregon. Every dollar was accounted for. A weekend event like this was absolutely not in the budget.
But I decided I was going anyway.
Not because I had it all figured out.
Not because it was convenient.
But because I knew I needed to be in that room.
I told my team. I told my friends. I said it out loud. And once I did that, things started lining up in ways I couldn’t have planned if I tried.
I found out a group of people I knew were already going, and they had secured a discounted group rate. I snagged the last ticket at a fraction of the cost.
I started looking at flights and right as I was bracing myself for a 15 hour bus ride, a flight deal popped up on my phone that was cheaper than the bus ticket.
Then came the lodging issue. I was fully prepared to share a room or sleep on a couch somewhere. Somehow, through a connection I had made along the way, I ended up with a room at a price I never could have arranged on my own.
I needed cold weather clothes. A friend had exactly what I needed in my size.
I needed snacks for travel. Grocery deals lined up perfectly.
I needed a ride to the airport. That showed up too.
Every single thing came together, not because I had it all figured out, but because I took the first step and stayed open.
This is the part people miss.
You do not need the whole plan.
You do not need every detail mapped out.
You do not need certainty.
You need movement.
You need willingness.
You need to take the next step before you feel ready.
Once I committed, the path revealed itself one step at a time. Not magically, but intentionally. I had to say yes. I had to stay flexible. I had to show up and trust the process.
You don’t get to control the how.
You only get to choose the what.
If you spend all your energy focusing on why something won’t work, you’ll never see the opportunities trying to meet you halfway. But when you focus on the outcome and stay open, the pieces start to fall into place in ways you never could have planned.
Intention plus action really is magic.
