This broiled halibut with lemon-thyme butter is light, flavorful, and incredibly simple to prepare. The buttery citrus sauce keeps the fish tender while letting the natural flavor of the halibut shine through. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner or a light, elegant meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 (6 oz) halibut fillets

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup water

  • Juice of 1 large lemon

  • 2 tablespoons dried thyme

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat the broiler and position the oven rack so the fish will sit about 3 to 4 inches from the heat source.

  2. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, lemon juice, thyme, salt, and pepper.

  3. Place the halibut fillets in a broiler-safe pan and brush generously with the lemon-thyme butter.

  4. Broil for 10–15 minutes, brushing with additional butter mixture halfway through, until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

  5. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
